Renata Smith, known professionally as "NyceWitIt," born in Alpena, Michigan is a divorced mother of three who has carved out a diverse and impressive career path. Her creative journey began early, with poetry, spoken word, and short stories in her middle school years, followed by involvement in theater during high school. Pursuing higher education in Texas, Smith focused on cybersecurity, leading to IT Management positions for major corporations. Demonstrating her versatility, she also operated as an independent Notary Public on weekends. This combination of technical expertise, creative writing, and professional services highlights Smith's adaptability and wide-ranging talents.

Renata Smith launched her professional artistic career in 2007 with the release of her self-titled spoken word album, "NyceWitIt." This marked the beginning of her live performances, which took place at various venues across Michigan, Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, and Texas, as well as in virtual settings.

The tragic death of George Floyd in 2020 sparked a deeper commitment to social justice in Smith. Responding to this event, she joined the Fort Worth, Texas, chapter of the NAACP in June of that year. In this role, she engaged in multiple areas of activism, including Combating police brutality, fighting against racism and discrimination, and addressing environmental injustice. Smith's involvement with the NAACP also leveraged her professional skills. She contributed her expertise in IT and media management to the organization and played a role in coordinating youth-focused events. This progression in Smith's career demonstrates how she integrated her artistic talents with her technical skills and passion for social justice, creating a unique and impactful professional path.

NyceWitIt, has significantly expanded her creative and entrepreneurial ventures. She founded NyceWitIt Corporation, an entertainment business where she serves as CEO, and established herself as a published author in fiction and non-fiction. Smith's current projects showcase her diverse talents, including a YouTube/Instagram series called "A Poet's Blues" and several children's books such as "Travel with Me from A to Z!", "Still A King," and "Affirm with Me from A to Z". Notably, these books feature her own children as illustrators. Her artistic portfolio further expanded in 2021 with the release of her second poetry album, "Almost Rage Free," and the launch of "Poetic Apparel,” a fashion line offering collections for women, men, and children. Alongside her creative pursuits, Smith remains dedicated to community service, offering mentorship in artistry, IT, and social justice, thus leveraging her multifaceted expertise to inspire and guide others.
